NEW: Summer 2022 Youth Cross-Country Camp

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is accepting registration for its new Summer 2022 Youth Cross Country Camp for boys and girls aged 10 to 17.

Gabe Lucido, a USATF Certified Trainer at VFit, and JJ Garza of the South Texas Roller Running Club will be training for this camp. The regime includes tools and practices for both novice and experienced athletes looking to improve their overall running performance. The training focuses on techniques, preparation, injury prevention, goal setting, motivation, sport psychology, strategy and more.

Runners explore trails within the Corpus Christi Parks system. The workouts will be experience-based and age-appropriate, offering short and long-distance training to improve fitness, speed and endurance while having fun. Runners are encouraged to bring a towel for floor exercises and a water bottle to stay hydrated daily.

The six-week camp will be offered from June 16th to July 23rd as follows:

  • Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm at Salinas Park
  • Saturdays from 7:30am to 8:30am at West Guth Park
