Tina Warhurst, mental health program manager for FourPoints health, said that the practice as a whole strives to connect patients with resources that will help them meet life’s challenges. Their friendly and knowledgeable behavioral health professionals are ready to serve all members of the community.

Behavioral health services are available to patients at all FourPoints Health clinics in southern Utah. The practice employs eight psychotherapists who care for patients throughout the region, as well as outpatient addiction counseling at the St. George and Cedar City locations. Telemedicine services are also available.

FourPoints Health provides counseling for adults, children, couples, and families dealing with a variety of problems, including depression, anxiety, trauma, domestic violence, toxic relationships, and substance abuse. Patients can also take classes and support groups that focus on depression, drug and alcohol abuse, anger management, parenting, and more.

“All of our therapists are trained in a variety of therapy modalities,” said Warhurst. “We also have a cultural advisor who provides services to both tribal members and members of the public who are interested in a more culturally oriented treatment plan.”

Cultural services such as sweat lodge ceremonies and drum circles are available to any patient interested in exploring resources beyond traditional therapy. Warhurst said these experiences can be particularly profound for people of Native American ancestry who seek a deeper connection with their roots.

As an integrated practice, FourPoints Health seamlessly interweaves medical and behavioral services. Warhurst said their providers often see patients visiting for general medical purposes but could also benefit from mental health resources. Patients who come to mental health clinics may also have underlying physical problems that have not yet been treated. Therapists and doctors work together to ensure that their needs, including medication, are fully met.

FourPoints Health is a community health center founded with the aim of providing high quality, affordable health care for adults and children regardless of insurance status. Preventive and primary medical care, dental care, and behavioral health services are available to all patients on an income-based fee scale.

Patients can pay in cash from as little as $ 20 per visit. In addition, FourPoints Health provides insurance specialists to help patients obtain coverage through either Medicaid or Healthcare.gov.

“We can accept any customer regardless of their solvency,” said Warhurst.

FourPoints Health is owned and operated by the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah and operates five clinics in the southern and central regions of the state. Many of the staff are tribal members who work for and give something back to their tribe and community.

At FourPoints Health, providers strive to treat more than just a patient’s physical body; their minds, emotions, and spirit all play a role. These four points of the ancient medicine wheel define health and wellness in the Paiute way of life.

As a community health center, FourPoints Health has access to state funding options for services that other providers may not offer. The practice is also not restricted by the guidelines and time constraints of a privately run clinic, allowing them to provide more personalized patient care.

Tyler Goddard, FourPoints Health director of health, said that affordable quality care is possible and available in their clinics every day in southern Utah, and her entire team is passionate about health and wellness.

“We believe that we are only as strong as our weakest member,” he added. “So when we strengthen every single member of our community, we strengthen the entire community.”
