Senate Bill 711, which would legalize marijuana for medical purposes, was passed through three Senate committees before stalling on the Gateway Rules and Operations Committee in August. It will likely reappear at the beginning of the 2022 session.

SB711 is the latest of several attempts over the past 12 years to legalize marijuana for medical purposes.

Rabon, a cancer survivor, said SB711 would not serve as a recreational marijuana gateway, despite opponents including Krawiec claiming it does.
