SAN DIEGO, August 22, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Alliant International Universitya leading professional practice university for psychiatrists, announced today that its California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling (MACC) program has officially received accreditation from Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Allied Educational Programs (CACREP). This accreditation ensures that CSPP students receive a high-quality educational experience, verified by counselors and counselor educators against rigorous CACREP standards.

“Receiving CACREP accreditation is an important milestone for the CSPP and a testament to our commitment to providing our students with the highest level of educational excellence,” said Dr. DavidPaul, director of the system-wide MACC program. “Most importantly, this accreditation ensures our graduates continue to have even more opportunities to excel in the fields of counseling and mental health and to make a direct and needed difference in their communities.”

The newly CACREP-accredited MACC program offers rigorous in-person and online courses and curriculum that provide opportunities for out-of-state licensing and help students prepare for their professional careers. The content areas of the CACREP syllabi are the required training for the counseling license in most states, making CACREP accreditation a path to portability.

“We are committed to filling unmet needs for mental health services across the country, and CACREP accreditation for our MACC program is an important part of that mission,” said Dr. David Stewartdean of California School of Professional Psychology. “Employers and consumers will know that our graduates have graduated to the most rigorous educational standards and are prepared to be excellent Licensed Clinical Consultants wherever they are needed.”
