WASHINGTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Aug. February 2022–

Active Minds and TimelyMD have United forces Raising awareness and promoting resources that improve and support the mental health of college students.

active minds is the nation’s leading nonprofit organization supporting mental health awareness and education among young adults. TimelyMD is the leading virtual health and wellness solution for college and university students.

Their complementary missions intersect in higher education, where there has never been a greater urgency to open up the conversation about mental health and create lasting change in the way mental health is spoken about, cared for and valued. In January, nine out of ten college students said there is a full-blown mental health crisis on campus.

Building on years of collaboration and mutual support, Active Minds officially recognizes TimelyMD as a Preferred Provider for Virtual Health and Wellbeing in Higher Education. The formalized alliance between Active Minds and TimelyMD includes:

  • Scholarships for student organizations – To further student advocacy and education efforts, TimelyMD will provide grants to Active Minds chapters at 20 colleges and universities across the country where both organizations already have a presence. Chapters will be announced soon.
  • Student Oriented Awareness The grants will support student ambassador programs at each campus that create visibility for and encourage use of available campus mental health resources, including TimelyCare, TimelyMD’s 24/7 virtual care solution that’s as easy and convenient as a video or phone call.
  • Message Reinforcement – Better Together, Active Minds and TimelyMD will cross-promote, amplify and collaborate on content, programs and allies that shine a spotlight on student mental health.

“There is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. What works for one person doesn’t always work for another. But what I’ve learned in my 20 years in the mental health field is that access to safe, trusted services is key to improving mental health for everyone,” said Alison Malmon, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Active Minds. “That’s why I’m so excited about our recent partnership with TimelyMD, which is giving students across the country expanded access to their lifesaving services and opening the door to better mental health for everyone.”

“Disruptive college students are more likely to receive help when their campus culture supports mental health issues. Given that most students talk to their friends before seeking virtual tutoring or in-person counseling, peer-to-peer advocacy and encouragement has never been more important,” said Luke Hejl, CEO and co-founder of TimelyMD . “Together, Active Minds and TimelyMD are changing the conversation about mental health and empowering students to be healthy and thrive.”
